8-15-05 NTCC Stand Out Continues Trend in Pro Ball In his first full year of professional baseball Dustin Roddy proves that he has made the transition from an exceptional college pitcher to an outstanding pro one. Roddy finished out the year with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers in the New York Penn League. Dustin made the transition from an every day postion player behind the plate, to NTCC’s best reliever his sophomore year. In his first season Dustin lead his team in appearances with 24, tied for second in wins with 3, and was second in team in saves with 6. Dustin finished the year with a 2.78 Earned Run Average which was third lowest on the team. “Dustin played a large role in our success his sophomore year.” Said Coach Smith “He was some one we could count on out of the pen to come in and get outs for us. We always knew he had arm strength and he has really worked hard to take the next step and become a good pitcher. We wish Dustin the best of luck and can’t wait to follow his career.” |
