2008 Summer: Matt played for the San Louis Obispo Blues in California…He posted a 3-2 record with a 3.32 ERA…He threw 65 innings and only walking 12 batters. 2008 Season: On the mound Matt had a record of 1-6 with a 10.29 ERA…He threw 35 innings while striking out 17 batters…At the plate Matt hit .296 in 115 at bats and 49 games played…He led the team with 10 doubles and drove in 12 runners…Matt was also 14-17 in stolen bases High School: In Matt’s senior campaign he was 8-2 on the mound with 63 innings pitched…He struck out an amazing 96 batters and only walked 23 batters…He posted a 1.60 earned run average…At the plate Matt his .390 with 2 home runs…His senior he was a 7A All State, 7A All Conference for 3 years, Arkansas All Star Team, was voted the #1 player in 7A West Baseball, Times Record First Team, 7A Football State Championship game MVP.
Matt is the son of Robert O’Neal…He has a brother Brandon (12)…His major is pre-professional studies with the goal to become an orthopedic surgeon…His goal is to become a professional baseball player…In his spare time his likes to play the guitar, listen to rock, and hang with friends…His favorite food is macaroni and cheese.
